Building paths of encounter for early childhood

ROLE

Strategic designer & Illustrator

team

impostergable, Dia a Dia Arquitectura

CHALLENGE

Build urban design guidelines and strategies to transform the public spaces of Pucusana into new ones that help create more stimulating, friendly and safe environments as well as help improve the living conditions of neighbors, specially children and families. All of this is keeping under the premise that a public space that is well designed and suitable for children, is good for all people.

strategy

We first needed to understand and recognize the context of Pucusana and all of the dynamics happening in its surroundings: users’ pathways, public spaces conditions, transport and mobility, urban buildings and equipments. The project "Pucu" has the mission to build a transversal urban structure that connects and activates all the strategic and dynamic places of Pucusana, and to recover the identity of this coastal district, highlighting its main activities and geographical characteristics: fishing, the beach and the mountains.

outcome

“Pucu: Paths of encounter for early childhood” is a publishing that collects, narrates and shares the process of this project in all of the phases for future posterity: Research and field recognition, urban analysis and diagnosis, strategy and the design proposal. We created an identity of the project with a joyful, empathetic and accesible tone that connects with our main audience: the children and their caregivers.
